Merrill James Snarr passed away peacefully on January 22, 2019. He was 83 years old. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on March 17, 1935 to Denzil and Lucy (Crossley) Snarr. He was the third child out of 4 children. His siblings were Gordon, Bonnie and Delane. His father passed away when he was 4 years old as a result of a grain elevator explosion. His mother remarried William Whitmill who had a half-sister, Martyna. He was joined in a family with Floy, Boyd, Dwayne, Delpha, Phyllis and Belva.
Merrill met and married the love of his life, Doris Adamson on November 5, 1960. They were married in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were latter sealed in the Cardston Temple on May 3, 1963. They had one daughter, Shana (Snarr) Corbett on January 15, 1968.
Merrill enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing games, golfing and playing practical jokes. He loved his country and he joined the United States Army where he served for 2 years and then 2 years in the Reserves. He worked in the coal mines of Price, Utah. He later studied to be a welder, he loved to create many things. Merrill and Doris moved to Fairfield, Montana to help take care of the Adamson Dairy and farm in 1982, Merrill resided untill the time of his death.
Merrill loved to build. He built a patio where he spent many hours with family roasting hot dogs, marshmallows and having fun. He truly was a family man, family was everything to him. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his two grandsons, Dusty and Levi Hinze. His other love was his dogs, they were like family to him.
Merrill was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to spend his time reading and studying his scriptures. He served as a Ward Clerk in the Fairfield Ward for 25 years. He had a strong testimony of the gospel.
He is survived by his wife Doris (Adamson) Snarr; his daughter Shana (Snarr) Corbett and her husband Kenneth Corbett. He has two grandsons, Dustin James Hinze and Levi Dean Hinze. He is survived by his brother Gordon Snarr and half sister Marytna (Whitmill) Little.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 AM at the Fairfield Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There will be a 10 AM Viewing and Military Honors will be presented at the grave side following services. Merrill’s family invites everyone back to the Church for the Luncheon.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Benefis Teton Medical Center Nursing Home in Choteau, Montana.
