The Helena Police Department is investigating false threats that were called in to two Helena banks.

According to Helena Police Department Capt. Curt Stinson, on Wednesday dispatchers received a call about someone at a bank with a gun and another call about someone at a bank with an explosive device.

"Both were false," Stinson said.

Both banks were locked down, and Helena police responded but found no suspicious activity.

"They were not legitimate threats," Stinson said.

Stinson said the Helena Police Department is still investigating the calls.
