Fairfield High School Senior, Emily Evans recently received a $2500 scholarship from the Foundation for Rural Service. 3 Rivers Communications is a member of NTCA−The Rural Broadband Association, sponsor of this scholarship.  There were 54 scholarships awarded to students from across rural America. Emily was the only recipient from Montana.

Upon hearing that she was selected from over 1500 applicants, Emily said, “I grew up in a large family; though only four members are human. The rest are animals of all sorts who have always been the joys of my life. I am blessed to spend each day learning from my parents, Brenda and Rodney, as well as my older sister Elizabeth. This fall I will be attending Montana State University Bozeman, majoring in pre-veterinary medicine and conducting research on the equine condition called laminitis. I will spend my freshman year serving as Montana FFA State Secretary, and upon finishing my undergraduate studies, I will head off to veterinary school.”
