Burton Ginther, 93, of Fairfield, passed away June 5, 2019, in Great Falls, MT after a short illness.
Burton was born Jan. 31, 1926 in Bartley NE. He & his family moved west of Richey Montana in the spring 1929. Spring of 1941 his parent homesteaded on the west end of the Fairfield bench. He served as a Navy "SeeBee" in the 38th Naval Construction Battalion during WWII. He earned both Bachelor of Science (1952) & Masters Science (1958) degrees from Montana State College. He married Blanche Fowler July of 1960. Burton worked as a chemist for Anaconda Company (Anaconda), Phillips Petroleum (Idaho Falls, ID), and for Department of Agriculture in both Montana (Bozeman) and Washington (Yakima, WA) states. He retired from Washington Department of Agriculture spring 1994, moving back to the Fairfield Bench.
Burton is survived by his sister Norma Sangray, Children, Beth Summers, Fred Ginther, Clara Warner and Ellen Ginther, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and his wife.
Memorial Services will be at the Augusta Community Church June 22, 2019 at 10:30 am.
