Lost in the brouhaha of the COVID-19 outbreak was the news that Fairfield’s Chris and Helen Music’s Montana Valley Irrigation has moved to a new location on the north side of Great Falls, near Vaughn.

The new location is at 1 Windmill View Loop, Great Falls. The move was completed on March 16.

“We are very excited to provide our community with a convenient location to fulfill all of their agricultural irrigation needs. We are committed to providing our customers the very best in parts and service and feel confident that this new location will help us to do so,” said owner Chris Music.

Readers will easily recognize the Music name. Chris served as an assistant football coach to Les Meyer in the ’16, ’17 and ’18 seasons. Chris is originally from Virginia, moved to Bozeman in 2009 where he played football for Montana State University. At the same time, Helen, who had grown up on a farm in New Hampshire, moved to Bozeman to attend nursing school. Chris would go on to play football at Rocky Mountain College and would graduate with a degree in business.

Helen, while growing up in New Hampshire, would spend her summers working for the Triple J Ranch in Augusta. She serves as the president of the Fairfield Junior Women’s Club.

The couple is also taking on the Fairfield Youth Football Program. “We are excited to be increasing our community involvement,” said Helen.

“We met after college in Billings where I had my first nursing job, and Chris was working for MVI under RDO Equipment,” Helen told the Sun Times. “In 2015, MVI asked us to move to Great Falls and have Chris head up the sales department. In 2018 Montana Valley Irrigation, LLC acquired the dealership from RDO Equipment, and is owned by Chris and his father-in-law Gray Cornwell.”

Montana Valley Irrigation is well stocked.

According to Helen, “The new location offers a large inventory of parts for all makes and models of agricultural irrigation equipment. Montana Valley Irrigation has 8 employees including factory trained service technicians that will keep grower’s downtime to a minimum. We serve central Montana and beyond. The new store is open Mon-Fri 8am-5pm and as needed after hours by appointment.”

The firm’s key product offering, Valley products, are manufactured by Valmont Irrigation, the leader in precision irrigation.

Valmont introduced the very first center pivot irrigation unit. Among other Valmont “firsts” are corner arm units and computer control technology for center pivots and linears. Today, Valley products enhance food production while conserving and protecting natural resources in more than 100 countries.
