Joe Biden won 81.3 million votes, breaking the record set by President Barack Obama, who got 69.5 million in 2008. President Trump also bested President Obama’s record, with more than 70 million, an indication of how divided the country is. The 2020 election saw record turnout, the highest since 1900, with 159.8 million Americans casting ballots.
