Last month, Steve Stokke (foreground) and his daughter Paige were in Fairfield to cut channels in the concrete base at the Teton County Veteran Memorial located in Fairfield’s Legion Park. The channels were added to aid in the drainage of water at the memorial. Steve, a veteran, currently serves in the National Guard. The Stokke’s are donating their work on the memorial.

Local artist Diane Hausmann, whose sculpture is the centerpiece of the memorial, told the Sun Times that only three spaces remain on the current wall, and when this wall is filled, there will be 216 tiles mounted.

Anyone interested in purchasing a tile on the Teton County Veteran Memorial can contact Laurence Vincent or Diane Hausmann, 467-3432, or you can stop by the Servicemen’s Club in Fairfield to pick up a form.

At least one anonymous donor has stepped forward to sponsor a tile for a WWII veteran from the area who no longer had relatives living in the region.
