The Montana Conservation Seedling Nursery program is an opportunity for land owners to plant trees for wind breaks and riparian conservation projects on their land.  The mission of the nursery is “to provide plants for conservation projects that occur throughout the state of Montana.”  The operation provides bareroot and containerized trees and shrubs for private landowners, conservation districts, government agencies, conservation organizations and the forestry industry throughout the state of Montana.

The program does have some minimum requirements for orders; first time customs must have a minimum order of 150 seedlings.  A 2020 updated inventory of seedlings can be found at the Montana DNRC web address; http://dnrc.mt.gov/divisions/forestry/forestry-assistance/conservation-seedling-nursery/nursery-catalog, or you may pickup an inventory list at the MSU Teton County Extension office.  The list features both evergreen and confer trees and shrubs.  To place an order please visit http://dnrc.mt.gov/divisions/forestry/forestry-assistance/conservation-seedling-nursery or pickup an order form from either the Teton County Extension Office or the Teton County Conservation District.  Spring inventory is limited so please place your orders early.
