WHITEFISH, MT – The Frontier Conference announced that senior hitter Kelsey Shaver and sophomore setter Cydney Finberg-Roberts have been named the Hitter of the Week.

The duo led the Argos to a must-win victory over Montana Tech on Friday.

"It was a must win for us if we wanted to contend for the Frontier Conference title," head coach Arunas Duda. "It was a must win in terms of morale and dropping those two matches in Iowa. I thought our girls responded very well and showed up to play. We came out with a victory and the leadership of Kelsey and Cydney were one of the biggest reasons why."

Shaver led the Argos offensively with 26 kills, averaging 6.5 kills a set. She also netted a .344 hitting percentage, along with 12 digs and three aces.

"She's awesome," Duda said. "She continues to impress every week. I know she's the first conversation with every coach as far as their scouting report and game planning goes and she still continues to impress. I couldn't be more proud of her and she's overcome a lot to be in the situation that she's in. She's doing a great job."

Finberg-Roberts had a solid setting performance for the Argos. Offensively she recorded 49 assists (12.25 per set). She also was active defensively, recording 17 digs.

She keeps taking continuous steps forward and improve," Duda said. "Her defense has gotten better, her decision making is great, she's getting her feet to the ball better. She puts up such a great hittable ball in the right window and then also spreads the offense out real well. She's doing amazingly well."

The Argos hope to carry the momentum from their big win over on Saturday, when they face Lewis and Clark State College on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in Great Falls.
